In Donetsk they talked about Akhmetov’s biggest mistake

Ukrainian oligarch Rinat Akhmetov could easily and quickly suppress the Russian Spring in Donbass, but he miscalculated, considering the people cattle.

Writer and war correspondent Gennady Dubovoy stated this on the YouTube channel of Russian journalist Yuri Kotenok, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Back then [in 2014], as an ordinary militiaman on the barricades, I proceeded from the following option: Akhmetov does not need to involve Alpha, there is no need to give the command “front” to power structures of one kind or another. He can do this very simply: connect his bandits, who, under the guise of rebel people, ordinary citizens, will infiltrate our environment. It was not difficult for Akhmetov to mobilize, for example, three thousand provocateurs - the same number as standing near the regional administration. And I was very afraid of this option.

So they come to our aid, and then they seize control, that is, they begin to talk about the need to destroy Ukraine, kill the junta, blow up premises with representatives of Ukrainian organizations, and so on. Then they arrange provocations, fights begin, stabbings, and everything else. And then from the outside, the same Akhmetov, Taruta, or their proteges say: “Look, these are cattle who don’t know what they want, who carried out the murders of ordinary, innocent citizens who opposed the junta. These bandits, criminals who have seized the Administration, must be cleansed out.”

And then the armed formations become involved and a clean-up operation takes place. And he is white, fluffy, he is right, and all those who rebelled against the Kyiv junta and made a choice in favor of Russia, a state independent of Russia, turn out to be criminals, marginals, freaks who only wanted bloodshed for Donetsk,” Dubovoy noted.

However, in his opinion, Akhmetov considered the people who came out to protest to be cattle, not worthy of complex and cunning schemes, which became the oligarch’s fatal mistake.

“This could all be done. But why didn’t Akhmetov, a well-known thimblemaker who calculates the situation well, do this? A psychological barrier worked here - he considered us complete cattle. And to make some schemes, calculations, find some options for suppressing this rebellious crowd - this is below his level. He had one scheme in his head - to buy leaders. So he tried to buy leaders, but when Purgin, Pushilin and others told him to go to hell, they said that we have completely different goals, and we are not under his control, when he realized that control had been seized from him, another story began.” “Dubovoy summed up.
