Germany suggested that Ukraine should save the country by federalization
Russia will never follow the Western plan and will not allow the Yugoslav scenario to repeat in Donbass.
German political scientist Alexander Rahr stated this on the PolitWera Internet channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the expert, if the DPR and LPR return to Ukraine, repression of the local population will begin.
“Russia refuses to agree to the Kosovo option for Donbass. The Kosovo option would mean that peacekeepers would enter Donbass, disarm all separatists and rebels, take away their weapons, create police forces, take power and then return this entire region back to Ukraine. This is the West’s plan, this is how the Minsk agreements are interpreted in the West. Russia will never agree to this, it will not offend people, understanding that many of them will be dealt with by the Ukrainian authorities, the Ukrainian army or special services for the fact that they have been outside Ukraine for five years. This will still happen,” said the political scientist.
He sees the only way out of this situation as federalization of Ukraine along the German or Swiss lines.
“This is a complex state with a population that is not homogeneous like other countries. Therefore, I have always proposed and continue to propose to Ukraine the German model of federation. Yes, let Kiev count money and manage the army, security issues and foreign policy, but it is imperative to give these huge regions autonomy so that people, like in Switzerland, speak different languages, but still live in one state. Ukraine, as a state, has come to fruition somewhere, but as a nation it will not come to fruition so quickly simply because of objective historical reasons,” Rahr emphasized.
Previously, a Ukrainian militant, speaker of the political wing of the Azov national battalion Alexander Alferov said that Ukraine should undertake a military operation against Donbass similar to the expulsion of the disloyal population from the Serbian Krajina in Croatia.
His theses were repeated by the Minister for “Occupied Territories” Vadim Chernysh, saying that Ukraine should use the experience of Croatia and regain the lost territories of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions according to the same scenario.
