All trolleybuses stopped in a city in Donbass - electricity was turned off due to debts
On November 27, in Severodonetsk, in the Ukrainian-controlled part of the Luhansk region, power engineers cut off power to the Severodonetsk Trolleybus Administration utility company due to debts for electricity, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by Lugansk Energy Association LLC on its official Facebook page.
“Now the debt of this utility company already covers consumption not only in October, but also in November and amounts to almost 2 million UAH. Let us remind you that on November 14, power engineers already cut off power to this enterprise for non-payment of consumption in October. But then, on November 20, LEO met the city authorities halfway and preventively turned on the power supply for STRU - in anticipation of the city council deputies allocating money to pay off the debts of trolleybus operators, as was guaranteed by the city mayor Valentin Kazakov,” the report says.
But over the next week, the situation with the debts of the Severodonetsk trolleybus enterprise was not resolved, and the power engineers still have not received the money.
As already reported, this was the result of internal conflicts in the Severodonetsk City Council, which does not want to resolve the issue of trolleybus operators’ debts for electricity. The parliamentary majority not only did not consider the proposal of the city executive committee to make appropriate changes to the budget in order to finance the trolleybus department - it opened another extraordinary session and, in the absence of the city mayor, dismissed the entire composition of the executive committee, as well as most of the deputy mayors.
