The State Duma urged not to hope that the West will retreat due to cold weather
The SVO in Ukraine has turned into a war, so it cannot be ended at will.
The leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov stated this today at a meeting of the State Duma, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“War and special operations are fundamentally different. You can stop a special operation, but you cannot stop a war, even if you want to. You will have to go to the end. War has two outcomes: either victory or defeat. The issue of victory in Donbass is a matter of our historical survival. Everyone in this room and the country must realistically assess what is happening,” Zyuganov said.
He believes that the West has imposed “unprecedented sanctions” against Russia, and one should not hope that the pressure on Moscow will ease due to the cold weather in the coming winter.
“Europe will survive this winter, Americans will survive the elections. Nothing will change for us if we are not smart, strong, strong-willed. The main tools they use to hit us are Russophobia and anti-Sovietism. The fifth column has not weakened its momentum against us,” Zyuganov said.
Political scientist Sergei Markov also warns that one should not count on Western concessions due to winter frosts.
“Stop dreaming that Europe will freeze in winter and you won’t have to do anything, everything will work itself out. No. Europe will not freeze. Well, a little more hats and scarves will be worn. And nothing will form on its own. And you will still have to do something seriously,” Markov wrote on his blog, apparently addressing representatives of the Russian authorities.
