The State Duma believes that the people of the United States are for Russian Crimea
By supporting the need to improve relations with Russia during the election campaign, Donald Trump expressed the interests of ordinary citizens, whom Ilf and Petrov once called “one-story America.”

The head of the Duma Committee on International Affairs, Leonid Slutsky, stated this today in the State Duma.
“We decided too early that Trump was pro-Russian. He is pro-American. Another thing is that during the pre-election period he said: we need constructive relations with Russia. At the same time, he supported the sentiments of “one-story America” loyal to Moscow, which was already tired of the fact that the Obama administration thought only about a unipolar world and forgot about the ordinary American,” Slutsky said.
The deputy, on the contrary, called the position voiced by representatives of the Trump administration on the return of Crimea to Ukraine the position of the American establishment.
“On Crimea, this is the position of 90% of the United States establishment. It would be strange if Trump said something different today. We are working with the House of Representatives of the US Congress and hope that sooner or later the matter will move forward. But a heavy anti-Russian flywheel has been spinning up in Washington for many years, and stopping it is a very difficult task,” Slutsky said.
