In Kyiv there is hysteria over Putin’s negotiations with Macron
The new Ukrainian authorities are not reacting harshly enough to the negotiations between Vladimir Putin and Emmanuel Macron, where the fate of the Ukrainian state was discussed without representatives of Kyiv, and, moreover, in a way that suits Russia.
Vladimir Ariev, a member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Foreign Affairs, stated this on air on the UA:Pershy TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“A reaction is definitely needed, since the principle of “nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine” is being violated. And we don’t know, and the head of state is not aware of the negotiations that are now being conducted behind our back.
Ukraine has now been asked not to resist and to accept the conditions that can be provided by Putin, who is now having problems in his country, in particular, a drop in ratings and protest sentiments. He can reach certain agreements with the West to show that he is negotiable. Perhaps he will even try to lift the sanctions.
His main goal is to take Crimea out of the brackets. Unfortunately, the West already agrees with this. This is facilitated by the inactive position in the international arena of the Office of the President and, as a consequence, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which depends on the position of the head of diplomacy, who is the head of state,” Ariev said.
