Vasily Ovcharuk, the head of the Crimean Congress of Ukrainian Nationalists, who left the peninsula after it became part of the Russian Federation, made such a proposal during a rally near the Russian Embassy to representatives of the Ukrainian media.
“I had to feel the brotherly embrace of the Muscovites,” he claims. – If anyone hasn’t felt it, please, go to Crimea, to the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, and, possibly, to Muscovy itself. For some reason everyone here is called Russia, Russia. No, dear ones, they have a name - Muscovy. And until 1721 this name was used and was legal. So let’s you, journalists, stick to it and give them back that old name.”
The speaker also called the Kremlin “the forces of Satan.”
“They don’t hear or see anything human,” Ovcharuk believes. – Persuading them is simply a waste of time. All this can be stopped only by force of arms, force of spirit.”
