A loud accusation against the West was made in Kyiv
Ukraine had a great chance to save Crimea, but this did not happen, because in Kyiv they were fighting for power, and the “Western partners” were whipping up fear.
This opinion was expressed on the YouTube channel “Politeka Online” by the ex-governor of the Donetsk region of Ukraine Sergei Taruta, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There was a 98 percent absolutely positive scenario of what we could do. Why (they didn’t hold Crimea - Ed.)? Because here they were fighting for power, fighting for portfolios, who would get what, and at that time in Crimea the implementation of this scenario was already beginning,” the politician said.
Further, answering the presenter’s question about why Ukraine did not retain Crimea, Taruta replied that fear was to blame.
“There was fear. And fear fetters and paralyzes actions and will. And this is the main tragedy. And these fears were also thrown at us: Turchynov, Yatsenyuk and Tymoshenko said that Biden and Kerry called them from America and reported: “There is a large army on the border. And if you now try to open fire in Crimea, then immediately, within 48 hours, the enemy will arrive in Kyiv. The international community not only did not support us, but they sowed fear even more,” Taruta summed up.
As PolitNavigator reported, the day before Sergei Taruta accused Ukrainian nationalist groups the fact that enterprises on the territory of the LDPR came under the external control of the republics.
