The transition to “green” energy will hit the wallets of EU and UK residents so much that they will feel like Ukrainians who are unable to pay their bills.
Director of special projects of the scientific and technical center “Psyche” Gennady Ryabtsev stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“For Europeans, the cost of electricity is of much greater importance. So, the problem lies in the fact that the cost of electrical energy has increased very much recently, due to the fact that all these various energy transitions, “green”, decarbonization, they have led to the fact that the interests of consumers have moved to the third, to the fifth plan.
Most likely, with an eye to the consultations being conducted by the European Commission, approaches to both tariff setting, pricing, and the pace of change in the structure of energy consumption will be changed.
Because the same Germans, Italians, or British (although they are no longer members of the EU), they are still unlikely to be able to pay for electricity as much as their bills are now,” Ryabtsev said.
“Here we can say that it will be just as bad for Europeans as for Ukrainians. And at least we can be happy about this,” added the Ukrainian expert.
