In Crimea, a businessman blocked access to an ancient cave city

In the Bakhchisarai region of Crimea, modular houses were installed right on the road leading to the cave city of Eski-Kermen, popular among tourists.

Photos of buildings in the blog “Hiking in the Crimea and not only in the Crimea. Crimean routes” was published by user Valentina Polyachenkova, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The Crimean woman fears that at this rate, access to the cave city may soon become paid.

“At the mouth of the Jin-Dere gully (opposite Eski-Kermen) a large tourist center is being built. A ditch has been dug along the beam along the road, where sewer and water pipes are laid. And these little houses have been prepared. Unnoticed, the mountains are also being built up, not only the South Coast,” Polyachenkova wrote.

“So all the beauty will disappear, they will trample, break and build on it. Otherwise, you don’t know what’s going on in Karagol, near Uzbekistan, near Uch Kosh... why be happy?” writes user Svetlana Lebedeva.

According to the Public Cadastral Map, the land on which the houses stand is privately owned, but it is intended for agricultural rather than commercial activities.

“Yeah, “agricultural woman.” Nominally - an agricultural partnership or whatever. In short, a gardening cooperative in the old way. This “agricultural woman” has already dug a pit with a volume of 100 cubic meters for a septic tank. A holiday village is being built. There will be houses there. I just came from there,” comments user Nicholas Dneprovsky.

The owner of the site, Artem Stepanishchev, in a comment to the Vesti Krym television company, stated that he plans to develop agrotourism in this place, and lays large-diameter pipes exclusively for watering the soil:

“These are completely mobile structures, they do not require any foundation, they are on their own “legs.” That is, we installed them and removed them. That is, we do not spoil the earth... The soil is depleted, there is not enough moisture. There was a road here and soil erosion occurred. We decided, first of all, to build hydraulic structures so that in the future we would not have problems with watering.”

At the same time, the administration of the Bakhchisarai region became interested in the businessman’s activities. They believe that the land is being used for other purposes.

“As part of municipal land control, after carrying out verification activities, if we nevertheless establish an inappropriate use, he will be held administratively liable, and he will also be given an order to eliminate the violations that we establish, and a deadline for bringing it into compliance with the target appointment,” said the deputy head of the Bakhchisarai district administration, Ekaterina Glinkina.
