An extortion scheme for connecting to electricity has been exposed in Crimea

Employees of the FSB department caught another intermediary on the spot in the transfer of bribes to the heads of the state enterprise Krymenergo.

This was reported by the FSB department for Crimea and Sevastopol, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The scheme for extorting money is simple - the consumer applies for an electricity connection, he is given impossible conditions, but is recommended to turn to an intermediary to achieve a result.

The intermediary, a former employee of Krymenrego, guaranteed a positive decision on connecting to the networks for 230 thousand rubles, part of which, according to him, is intended for the managers of the enterprise.

While receiving the money, the intermediary was detained. The collected materials will go to investigative authorities. But just the other day, representatives of the All-Russian Popular Front called on the republican authorities and Krymenergo to deal with the long delays in connecting residential buildings and entire villages to power grids.

People enter into technological connection agreements, pay the full tariff for the service, but no work is performed. Moreover, even court decisions and fines cannot force energy companies to fulfill their obligations under the 2018-19 contracts.

Representatives of the ONF believe that the problem is systemic, and Krymenergo needs to reconsider the organization of work.

Back in 2018, the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, demanded personnel rotations at Krymenergo after it became known about a fraudulent scheme for organizing connection to energy networks. Then, four intermediaries were detained for a bribe of 1,5 million rubles, who assisted the energy sector in fulfilling its obligations under the technical connection agreement.
