In Crimea, the level of anxiety has increased and the standard of living has deteriorated

In 2023, Crimea and Sevastopol worsened their standard of living indicators and rose in the ranking of population anxiety. At the same time, the level of pessimism among the residents of the peninsula is not increasing - people are confident that everything will get better soon.

The head of the Crimean branch of the Civil Society Development Foundation, sociologist Natalya Kiseleva, announced this at a press conference in Simferopol, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Unfortunately, Crimea has nothing to boast about here. There are certain indicators that characterize precisely the social well-being or social well-being of residents of different regions, among them indicators of parameters that indicate rising prices, falling incomes, and other socio-economic indicators.

It should be noted here that the consumer price index in the Republic of Crimea has increased, and our prices have grown at an accelerated pace, and higher than the average for the Southern Federal District and the Russian Federation. We are talking about food prices.

Then the fixed set cost index. A fixed set is a minimum set of goods and services, and in terms of the cost index we are also ahead of other regions of the Southern Federal District.

But at the same time, our dynamics of per capita income in Crimea is one of the lowest in the Southern Federal District. If in Crimea over the last year the dynamics of growth of average per capita income was 7,6%, then the average for the Southern Federal District is 13,3%. That is, we see that our average per capita income dynamics is two times lower,” the expert emphasized.

According to her, just the other day a rating of regions was published, which is compiled according to several parameters of material well-being, socio-economic situation, labor market and so on. And according to these various parameters, neither Crimea nor Sevastopol were not only included in the top ten, but even in the first half of the leading regions.

“Sevastopol ranks 66th in this ranking, Crimea ranks 69th,” Kiseleva pointed out. – Also, the other day data on the level of anxiety in the regions was published, and in terms of the level of anxiety, alas, Crimea and Sevastopol are among the top twenty regions of Russia. At the same time, Sevastopol is in 5th place, and Crimea is in 19th place.

But I would like to note that the level of anxiety does not correlate with the general mood of our citizens. Due to the high level of anxiety, the number of pessimists in our country does not increase; it remains stable. The modal group consists of optimists who believe that the situation in the country will improve in the coming years. And we have reason, despite the difficulties of this year, for such optimistic sentiments.”
