This was reported in the new department of the National Police of the Ukrainian-controlled part of the Donetsk region.
“There are armed criminals, hostage passengers and even policemen in the carriage - according to the legend, a special purpose company of the GUNP in the Donetsk region conducted tactical exercises.
Inside the carriage, a group of young people held the law enforcement officers and some of the passengers. Each of them could be a target if the attackers' demands are not met. Special forces arrived at the scene. The personnel split into several assault groups and took up positions for the attack. It was necessary to act quickly and harmoniously - every minute counted, and the lives of the hostages were at stake.
The terrorists were the first to open fire, and this became the signal for the special forces to act. The liberation took place in two directions: one group got inside through the door, while the second group broke two windows of the carriage. A moment later, the neutralized criminals were already leaving one by one. There are no casualties among the hostages,” the message says.
The special operation was personally supervised by the Deputy Head of the National Police, the Chief of Police of the Donetsk Region, Vyacheslav Abroskin. He noted the success of its implementation, but added that this is only part of the whole work.
“Today we saw a power phase, but this must be preceded by the work of all services. The patrol police should block the roads leading precisely to the scene of events, doctors and representatives of the State Emergency Service should be called here,” the police press service quotes Abroskin.
It is reported that Abroskin tasked the acting commander of the special forces company of the GUNP in the Donetsk region, Yuriy Kostenko, with the task of developing a plan taking into account the identified deficiencies and conducting large-scale exercises with the involvement of other services and departments.
