“An explosion occurred in one of the five-story apartments at No. 233 on Fevralskaya Street in Melitopol. It thundered at approximately 21:50 and could be heard within a radius of a kilometer or more. The apartment in which the tenants lived at that time was damaged,” the city executive committee said in a statement.
The State Emergency Service reports that the explosion killed three people and one was hospitalized in serious condition in the city hospital. “The load-bearing wall and floor slab between the third and fourth floors were partially damaged. One person was saved. 30 residents were temporarily moved from the house to a dispensary,” the publication reports. "Local News".
“Half the apartment was blown away, the balcony was tilting, and soon it might even fall. Some of the slabs above this apartment caved in, and windows in many apartments were blown out. Wallpaper, etc. were lying about 50 meters from the house,” eyewitnesses reported on social networks.
