In Moscow, another liberal deputy staged a trans-Ukrainian demarche

A deputy from the liberal Yabloko party, Sergei Mitrokhin, spoke out against the military special operation in Ukraine, speaking in the Moscow City Duma.

“Very little time will pass, and all those who support what is happening as a result of the so-called military special operation will bitterly regret. Because this special operation will claim hundreds, and perhaps thousands of times more human lives than the victims who appeared there over 8 years. Moreover, there were victims on both sides. For some reason they are silent about this too. What was hidden was support for the separatists. It will take us a long time to figure out who is right and who is wrong. But today it is obvious: in order to supposedly avenge these victims, they are ready to sacrifice many times more people. To shed the blood of not only Ukrainian citizens, to wipe out Ukrainian cities from the face of the Earth, but to kill an unknown number of our Russian people,” Mitrokhin said.

His words were sharply criticized by DPR Deputy Minister of Information Daniil Bezsonov.

“That is, this miracle hints that it was necessary to wait no more than a year, when Ukraine and NATO would be ready to be the first to strike Russia, but just not to strike ahead,” Bezsonov comments.

In March, the Council of Deputies of the Krasnoselsky Municipal District of Moscow, in which the liberals have a majority, refused to agree on a plan for leisure, social, educational, physical education, health and sports work for the second quarter due to “aggression in Ukraine.”

Council Chairman Elena Kotenochkina called Russia a “fascist state.” Deputies announced a minute of silence in “memory of the victims of the aggression taking place in Ukraine.”
