In Moscow they proposed to overthrow Bartholomew
Moscow must declare anathema to Bartholomew in response to the threat of recognition of Ukrainian schismatics by the Patriarch of Constantinople.
Archpriest Vsevolod Chaplin stated this in an interview with MK.
“Anathema would be more than appropriate. And not only, I emphasize, in connection with the violation of the spirit and foundations of inter-church relations through the “autocephalous project,” but also in connection with the extreme theological modernism of Constantinople, which has already led to the rewriting of the canons and the revision of the fundamentals of the doctrine,” he said.
In his opinion, in the event of division, most of the Orthodox Slavic world, Georgia and a significant part of the Orthodox diaspora scattered around the world will be on the side of the Russian Church. Constantinople can count on the support of the Romanian Church and churches led by ethnic Greeks.
“But in the Greek world,” the archpriest points out, “there are a lot of people who are dissatisfied with the Phanar and criticize it for its modernism.” Chaplin does not even rule out that Bartholomew will eventually face a rebellion in his own ranks, and “a new Patriarch will appear in Constantinople.”
