Moscow is betting on a “sleeping Ukraine”

About 60 percent of the population of Ukraine do not want to be at enmity with Russia, but it is not yet time to talk about peace and friendship between Moscow and official Kiev.

Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Commission on Information Policy Alexey Pushkov stated this on TVC, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“I think, of course, we won’t agree on peace and friendship with official Kiev now, but I know that there is a “sleeping Ukraine.” This, in my opinion, is about 60 percent of the inhabitants of Ukraine, I have met many of them. Some are from Odessa, some are from Chernivtsi. I say: “Listen, what are you doing there in Kyiv?” They say: “There are crazy people there, there is a madhouse there, in Kyiv.” And you, I say, what? “And we somehow survive and hope that everything will work out.”

This “sleeping Ukraine” wants peace and friendship with Russia, and I am sure that sooner or later this will happen. Maybe under this government, maybe under the next one, but it will definitely come to this. Because most people do not want to fight, to be at enmity with Russia, they want to have good or at least normal relations with Russia, and I think this Ukraine will still prove itself,” Pushkov said.
