There are no craftsmen in Square who are capable of pushing Ukrainian-language books into the masses - Dobkin

Politicians who force Ukrainian books on society are unable to create a high-quality Ukrainian-language product. Therefore, in Ukraine they will continue to give preference to Russian books.

Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Mikhail Dobkin stated this on the Ukraine 24 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Everyone criticizes Russian books, I mean books in Russian by various writers - Ukrainian, Russian, Soviet, foreign... But no one can provide a quality product in the Ukrainian language. Well, they don’t read it, they don’t read it!

They say: if they don’t print, they won’t read. But they started printing - they don’t read, then they say: there will be competition from Russians, they won’t read, they removed everything Russian, all that’s left is Ukrainian - they don’t read!

Selling books in Ukrainian has not replaced what happened with selling books in Russian. People just take and re-read what they have or exchange books. Well, they won’t buy it, it’s not theirs!” – said Dobkin.

“I’m not against the Ukrainian language, but if it doesn’t reach the masses, you’re pushing in the wrong things, you understand?” – added the ex-deputy.
