In exchange for salvation, Lukashenko promised to obey the Kremlin - Yusin

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has promised to follow Russia's requests and recommendations in response to help from Moscow and maintaining himself in power.

Russian political commentator Maxim Yusin stated this on the PolitWera Internet channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to Yusin, Russia benefits from a weakened Lukashenko, and the main task now is to prevent him from “wandering” after the situation in Belarus has leveled out.

“The situation now is such that its fall cannot be allowed. Moreover, what is happening now, if you disconnect from emotions and the “friend or foe” approach, and look a little detached, maybe even beneficial for Russia, because Lukashenko, on the one hand, held his own, but he is coming out of this crisis strongly weakened.

All his geopolitical wobbles are over. For the West, he is already a stranger, and now he must smoothly sail into the arms of Russia. Although, of course, it won’t work out smoothly - it’s rough. Today we recalled his statements - this will continue periodically.

Now our task is to ensure that when Lukashenko feels that the situation is getting better, everything does not return to normal and attempts to use us in secret do not begin again.

But, as far as I know, I talked even today with people who came there from Moscow - some to advise, and some to hold rather tough conversations with Belarusian colleagues in exchange for the assistance that Moscow provides to Minsk, Lukashenko, some of our urgent advice promised to listen and follow them,” Yusin said.
