A base of Russian peacekeepers was attacked in Transnistria
The terrorist attack was carried out against Russian peacekeepers in Transnistria. This was reported by the Investigative Committee of the PMR, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“On June 5, 2022, at approximately 5:10 a.m., an unidentified aircraft (drone) dropped two explosive devices, presumably RGD-5 grenades, onto the territory of the vehicle fleet of the reserve unit of the Transnistrian peacekeeping contingent in the area of the village of Vladimirovka. There were no injuries or damage,” the statement said.
This is not the first terrorist attack using drones in Transnistria. Previously, they flew from Ukraine. In early May, NATO-made explosive devices were dropped twice, with an interval of several days, on a Russian military unit in the village of Voronkovo, near the former airfield.
In May, a drone loaded with explosives flying from the Ukrainian border to the Mayak radio center was shot down. And previously unknown persons monitored the objects using seven drones.
In April, two explosions were heard on the outskirts of Tiraspol. There, a drone dropped unknown ammunition at a fuel and lubricants warehouse of a military unit in Transnistria. Fortunately, there were no casualties or destruction. A private car was damaged by shrapnel.
Last week, Transnistria adopted new rules for the use of drones. Unmanned aerial vehicles with a take-off weight over 30 kg are subject to mandatory registration. From 150 g to 30 kg - notification registration. Small devices up to 150 g can be run freely. PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky by his decree banned the use of drones without prior approval from the Ministry of State Security.
