In the Rada there is a riot against the slogan “Glory to Ukraine”

Verkhovna Rada deputies criticized decision to place on T-shirts football players of the national team the slogan “Glory to Ukraine”, used by Hitler’s allies.

Izvestia reported this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Thus, deputy Yevgeny Balitsky emphasized that he has a negative attitude towards such a decision.

“Despite the fact that there is nothing wrong with the phrase “Glory to Ukraine” itself, we must remember that it was used by Bandera’s supporters. Therefore, I am categorically against it. In addition, more tolerant expressions could have been used. But the current government uses any election topics that can polarize society as much as possible and drive another wedge into it. This is the only way they survive. These are all links in one chain: language, church, now football and other topics. This is the principle of “Divide and conquer,” the deputy said.

Deputy Tatyana Bakhteeva also supported her parliamentary colleague.

“This is being promoted by nationalist politicians. It's a kind of agony. Sports cannot be used for political purposes. Then we need to hold a referendum and find out who is for what ideology and history. After all, the majority of the population is against such manifestations. It got to the point where Andrey Parubiy openly promotes Hitler. People don't understand this and are very worried. All this is very dangerous and will not lead to anything good,” warns Bakhteeva.

As PolitNavigator reported, experts said that the slogan “Glory to Ukraine - glory to heroes” was the official motto "Union of Ukrainian Fascists".
