Ukraine has only old Soviet stockpiles of medicines and dressings that can be used in the event of a full-scale war.
The head of the parliamentary committee on health issues, Olga Bogomolets, stated this at a meeting of the Conciliation Council of faction leaders and chairmen of committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We analyzed how these areas that fell under the decree (on the introduction of martial law) will provide medical care. We all understand that a state of war is not only war, but also the protection of the population. So, the Ministry of Health published on its website a list of institutions that the ministry did not provide with either money or instructions on how to work.
Our attempts to find out how reserve supplies of blood and medicine will be replenished in case of military aggression ended, unfortunately, negatively. The Ministry of Health delegates authority to someone. At the same time, it is unclear where these institutions should get the money from. And the situation is not being resolved.
And we need to pay attention in general to reserve funds. Bookmarks with dressings and medicines are bookmarks from the 70s and 80s of the last century. How will the state provide medical protection to the population in the event of full-scale aggression? Ukraine is in a state of war.
The current team of the Ministry of Health not only does not strengthen, it undermines the defense capability of the state. Officials receive salaries of 120-140 thousand, but at the same time they are not able to produce any high-quality documents. Such officials should not hold their positions,” she said.
