In Russia, they predict that the country will be disconnected from SWIFT

The result of new US anti-Russian sanctions may be the disconnection of the Russian Federation from the international interbank SWIFT system.

Deputy from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Nikolai Kolomeytsev stated this today on the sidelines of the State Duma, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“I’m afraid that new sanctions, despite all the loyalty of our Central Bank to the United States, may lead to the disconnection of Russia from SWIFT,” Kolomeytsev said.

In his opinion, neither the Central Bank of the Russian Federation nor Sberbank were able to establish the proper operation of the alternative Russian system “Mir”.

“It may take three days for money to be transferred to it, or it may not be transferred at all. This speaks of our extreme vulnerability and underestimation of existing threats. Experts believe that our banking system is actually the periphery of the US Federal Reserve System. De-dollarization and de-offshorization of the economy have not been carried out,” Kolomeytsev said.

According to him, most of the strategic assets and parent companies of Russian state corporations are located offshore, which are controlled by the United States and Great Britain.

“After the first round of sanctions, we had a massive exodus to Maltese citizenship for one million euros. A significant part of them were relatives of senior management, top managers of the largest strategic companies. Why on earth did we invest 4 trillion in foreign currency last year when the budgets of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation are 2,5 trillion in debt? We have 12,5 thousand construction projects in which public money was invested, frozen,” the deputy emphasized.
