In Russia, the issue of initiating a criminal case for the murder of a militia member in Lvov is being decided

The Investigative Committee of Russia is deciding on the initiation of a criminal case for the murder of Russian militiaman Valery Ivanov in a colony in the Lvov region.

Rodion Miroshnik, adviser to the head of the LPR, told PolitNavigator about this.

“Today, the body of Valery Ivanov was buried with honors, but yesterday, after the body was delivered to Severodvinsk, at the request of representatives of the Investigative Committee of Russia, an examination was carried out and injuries were recorded that led to death. The issue of initiating a criminal case into his death is now being decided.

All information about the collected facts related to the death of Valery Ivanov in Ukrainian captivity will be transferred to the UN Commissioner for Human Rights, so that legal assessments of Kiev’s actions towards prisoners of war and the latter’s compliance with the provisions of the Geneva Convention and other international acts can be given at the international level.

The deaths and abuses of prisoners of war in Ukrainian captivity must not be repeated. There remain today, according to only confirmed data, more than 200 prisoners of war. Their life and health must be protected and, despite Kyiv’s opposition, they must be transferred to the Donbass republics as soon as possible,” Miroshnik said.
