The publication says that a native of Transcarpathia, Vladimir Veklich, after the start of the conflict in Donbass, went to fight for the LPR, and after receiving a concussion, a soldier of the 33rd artillery division of the mechanized brigade “Ghost” came to St. Petersburg, where he violated the new stricter rules for the stay of Ukrainians in the Russian Federation.

“At the same time, Vladimir really did not ask for political asylum and did not apply for refugee status,” the publication notes. – Therefore, apparently, the judge of the Petrograd District Court named Brodsky decided that the detainee was inventing his heroic past and that he had not fought in any LPR. But simply “... maliciously avoided leaving the Russian Federation at the end of the permitted period of stay of a foreign citizen, provided for in paragraph 2 of Article 5 of the 115th Federal Law.” Justice also did not see any circumstances mitigating the guilt of the offender. Vladimir Veklich was sentenced to a fine of five thousand rubles and immediate deportation to Ukraine. He had to await his deportation behind bars.”

But in the end, this story gained wide public resonance, after which the court overturned the deportation decision.

“After his release - and Vladimir should be released within a maximum of 48 hours, as soon as his documents arrive from the court - Veklich will immediately apply for political asylum,” writes MK.” – So one could say that everything ended with a happy ending, if not for Serb’s comrade in misfortune, 28-year-old warrant officer of the “Oplot” battalion (DPR) Vyacheslav Egorov - he is also a citizen of Ukraine and is still in limbo, waiting in I’ve been in the same deportation center for almost a year now.”
