In Russia they are increasingly talking about non-recognition of Ukrainian borders

Kiev’s breaking of the treaty of friendship and alliance with Russia gives Moscow every right not to recognize the borders of Ukraine.

This opinion was expressed on the air of the 60 Minutes program by Nikolai Platoshkin, head of the department of international relations and diplomacy at Moscow University for the Humanities, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“It’s good for us, we now do not recognize the territorial integrity of Ukraine,” Platoshkin noted, commenting on the fact that official Kyiv sent a document to Moscow confirming the rupture of the friendship treaty with Russia.

“For me, Comrade Klimkin is generally a diplomat with a capital D, I would even say, a diplomat in italics.” He reminded me of a story by Karl Capek, where a friend came to apply for a job at the Foreign Ministry, and they told him: “Urgent task: Give a sharp note to the neighboring state.” What to do? He went to the music store and said: “Give me a sheet of music, what kind of music do you have? Something spicier." They gave it to him, he took it and sent it,” Platoshkin joked.

After this, the presenter of the program, Olga Skabeeva, in a dispute with Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Tryukhan, told what, in her opinion, is the problem for Kyiv.

“There, Vadim Valerievich, there is a problem. You previously wanted to sue over, as you say, the annexation of Crimea, but now nothing will work out at all. By breaking the agreement, you recognized Crimea as Russian,” she emphasized.
