T.N. a language law eliminating the remnants of the rights of the Russian population and representatives of national minorities of Ukraine is planned to be adopted in the Verkhovna Rada in mid-March - closer to the presidential elections.
However, the law threatens not only a new round of confrontation in society, but also a further cooling of relations between Kyiv and Hungary and some other neighboring EU member states. Political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this at a press conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This is an important law, part of the agreement between Parubiy and Poroshenko. This review was planned a long time ago, so it could not be canceled. At the same time, there are no votes in parliament for this law. Therefore, the consideration took place at a leisurely pace and, most likely, an effective vote will take place in mid-March.
The law itself contradicts the Constitution of Ukraine. It has already caused a crisis with NATO, an additional crisis with Hungary and will be the subject of internal conflict,” Bortnik said.
