In Sevastopol, the FSB detained a 40-year-old Internet extremist

Two criminal cases have been opened against a 40-year-old Sevastopol resident for comments on social networks calling for violence and extremism. The Internet extremist was detained by employees of the FSB department, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

In groups on the social network VKontakte, a Sevastopol resident left comments inciting violence on ethnic and professional grounds, offending the feelings of believers, and inciting hatred.

“He also posted other materials aimed at expressing obvious disrespect for society, with the goal of insulting the religious feelings of believers,” the FSB department noted.

The investigation qualified the actions of the 40-year-old man under two articles of the Criminal Code - “public calls for extremist activities” and “incitement of hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity.”

In addition to a fine of up to 500 thousand rubles, an Internet extremist faces up to 5 years in prison.
