Next year Russia will have its own planes, its own cars will have to wait

Next year, Russia will certify several domestic aircraft at once.

This was stated today in the State Duma of the Russian Federation by the Minister of Industrial Policy Denis Manturov, approved by the Deputy Prime Minister, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Decisions have already been made regarding the aircraft fleet on a phased transition to domestic regional short- and medium-haul aircraft. At the end of next year, the Superjet with the domestic PD-8 engine and the IL-114-300 with the TV7-117 engine will receive a certificate. The Ladoga aircraft will be certified with the same engine in 2024, and that is also the deadline for certification of the Baikal and MS-21 aircraft,” Manturov said.

By 2030, it is planned to produce more than a thousand aircraft and expand capacities for their production.

“In the auto industry, instead of leaving global manufacturers, we will offer large players from friendly countries to localize in partnership with Russian companies. Considering the problems with individual components, we will produce simplified versions for now before we begin producing our own components. We will support the creation of a domestic component base through a special program,” the minister noted.

At the same time, he admitted that the volume of car sales and production in the Russian Federation will decrease by 50% at the end of this year.
