About this on Facebook wrote the press secretary of the Prosecutor General Larisa Sargan.
“In the Sumy region, a NABU officer and his accomplice demanded 300 thousand US dollars from the owner of a trademark and a chain of stores to stop criminal prosecution against her and close criminal proceedings,” Sargan wrote.
She added that later, at the request of a businesswoman in one of the Kyiv restaurants, the law enforcement officer agreed to halve the amount of the bribe.
“Upon receiving this amount – 150 thousand dollars – a NABU employee and his accomplice were detained today by employees of the Sumy region prosecutor’s office and the SBU,” Sargan noted.
In turn, NABU denied the detention of its employee.
“The press secretary of the Prosecutor General is spreading false information about the detention of a NABU employee. None of the current employees of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau have been detained yet. The information disseminated by Mr. Lutsenko’s press secretary is erroneous,” – says the press service of the department.
