Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed deep condolences in connection with the tragic death of the head of the Donetsk People's Republic Alexander Zakharchenko. The official website of the Kremlin reports this.
“Alexander Vladimirovich was a true people’s leader, a brave and decisive person, a patriot of Donbass. In difficult times for his native land, he stood up for its defense, took on enormous personal responsibility, and led people with him.
The vile murder of Alexander Zakharchenko is another evidence: those who chose the path of terror, violence, intimidation do not want to look for a peaceful, political solution to the conflict, do not want to conduct a real dialogue with the residents of the southeast. And they are making a dangerous bet on destabilizing the situation, on bringing the people of Donbass to their knees. They won't be able to do this.
I hope that the organizers and perpetrators of this crime will be punished.
