Mass poisoning of children occurred in the Lviv region

26 children aged 10 to 17 years and one adult were hospitalized at the Lviv Regional Infectious Diseases Clinical Hospital with food poisoning.

This was reported on the official website of the National Police of the Lviv Region, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to preliminary information, the victims were guests of the Dzhem Rakovets hotel in the Pustomyty district of the Lviv region, where the poisoning allegedly occurred.

At the moment, the condition of the victims is assessed as moderate.

The National Police said that the circumstances that led to the mass poisoning are being established.

“On this fact, criminal proceedings have been opened under Part 1 of Article 325 (violation of the rules for combating epidemics) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided for under this article is up to three years in prison. Police are establishing the cause of the mass poisoning and conducting a pre-trial investigation. Expertise has been ordered,” the statement says.
