Neither Russia nor China needs a military-political union – Kedmi

The current relationship between Russia and China is better than any military-political alliance.

The former head of the Israeli intelligence service Nativ, military expert Yakov Kedmi, stated this in an interview with journalist Alexander Waldman, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Russia has a military-political alliance with at least one state, is it looking for military-political alliances? She doesn't want them. And China doesn't want them. Because when you enter into an alliance with another state, you take on the obligation to act militarily in the interests of that state, these are not necessarily your interests.

Therefore, the close relations that exist between China and Russia are better than any alliance - interests dictate joint actions. And as Xi Jinping correctly explained them, Russia and China stand back to back, fighting off the enemies who attack them. You don't need an alliance for this. China has no alliance with any state. For what? And Russia does not need an alliance against NATO; it can handle it itself. And it doesn’t need an alliance against the United States,” Kedmi said.

However, he noted, the same cannot be said about the United States.

“It’s the Americans who always want them to have allies, to show everyone how much support we have. It's all a sham. In the event of a conflict with Russia, who will fight? Portugal? Montenegro, Denmark? In addition, to bind countries to themselves and subordinate them to their dictates in other areas. Russia is not looking for this, China is not looking for this either,” the expert explained.
