A Hungarian soldier deserted from the Ukrainian Armed Forces due to a conflict with his commander

A serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine deserted from the unit due to a conflict with the commander that arose on the basis of interethnic hatred.

Ivan Filiponenko, an officer of the press service of the People's Militia of the LPR, announced this at a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to his information, on September 16, a serviceman of the 72nd brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces left the unit without permission with his standard AK-74 weapon.

“The whereabouts of the fugitive are unknown, the brigade command organized the search on its own, and the JFO headquarters did not receive a report on the incident,” said Ivan Filiponenko.

He also noted that according to information disseminated on social networks by the deserter’s colleagues, it became known that a conflict arose between the serviceman and his company commander against the backdrop of national hostility.

“The company commander has nationalist views, and the deserted soldier is an ethnic Hungarian living in the Transcarpathian region,” added the representative of the defense department.
