“The military-industrial complex is destroyed”: Karasev explained why the Ukrainian Armed Forces have no chance of a counter-offensive

Ukraine immediately sends foreign military assistance to the front, where it is knocked out, and then the guns are sent to Poland for repairs.

Political scientist Vadim Karasev said this on the YouTube channel “Politeka”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.

“It is unlikely that we will be able to accumulate enough strike and offensive weapons to launch a large-scale counter-offensive. Because our situation is as follows - we do not have our own military-industrial complex, it was destroyed, our capabilities were undermined in the first months of the war. Now we are waging a war at the expense of the military-industrial complex of Europe, both American and Canadian,” admitted Karasev.

He described the difficulties Ukrainian military formations face when using Western equipment.

“It is very difficult to wage a war when this military assistance is not always coordinated - from there howitzers, from there “Caesars”, “Himers” and so on, this does not always have a controlled process in the rush of war, from the point of view of military tactics. Often all this new military equipment immediately goes to the front. The situation is like this, we need to hold the fronts. How many times were we frightened that the front would collapse, but the front did not collapse.

I don’t know how much we use this military equipment for reserves, for accumulation, for a future offensive. And will there be enough or not? And tanks, artillery pieces, self-propelled guns - they are knocked out. They need to be repaired if they are repairable.

Where is our repair base? We transport it across the country to Poland, repair it, then again to the front. Logistics are difficult to repair this equipment quickly again somewhere in Zaporozhye or somewhere else, no,” the political scientist laments.

At the same time, he noted that the Russian Armed Forces have enough ammunition and weapons, while Ukraine does not have the opportunity to create reserves for a counter-offensive.

“Because there are still small reserves, the Russians are using sea-based cruise missiles in fairly measured doses, and also aviation in very measured doses, because there is no overwhelming advantage in aviation.

Therefore, I do not have such confidence that we can create a reserve, in fact create a new armed army with trained fighters in order to go on a counter-offensive,” Karasev concluded.
