Donetsk is ready to return heavy weapons to the front line, said DPR Parliament Speaker Denis Pushilin. The time for impunity in Ukraine is passing, Donetsk deputies warn. Harsh statements from the DPR are an attempt to stop the upcoming offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, explain experts interviewed by PolitNavigator.

“If Ukraine does not change its position as soon as possible, if the guarantors of the Minsk agreements, that part of them that has a greater impact on Ukraine, do not take a more active position, then we will probably have to return our units to their previous positions. “Everything is ready for symmetrical actions,” Pushilin said in an interview with RIA-Novosti.

The time of impunity for Ukraine is coming to an end, DPR National Assembly deputy Vladislav Berdichevsky told PolitNavigator.

“The fact is that Ukraine, or rather its remnants, has not fulfilled a single point of the Minsk agreements, and has always been the first to violate all truces, so this decision is quite logical. Symmetrically or asymmetrically – we need to respond in such a way that our “neighbors” very clearly understand that there will certainly and always be an answer. I believe that Kyiv needs to realize that a decision on this matter has already been made; the time of impunity for war criminals is coming to an end in any case,” the deputy noted.

Political scientist Denis Denisov believes that Pushilin’s statement is a warning for Ukraine, which is preparing an offensive by its group in the Donbass.

“Over the past few weeks, the situation on the contact line has deteriorated greatly, and it increasingly seems that Ukraine is preparing a large-scale offensive operation. The Donbass republics simply have no other choice but to publicly declare this kind of thing - so that the Ukrainian military and the Ukrainian political leadership understand perfectly well that if they take another adventure associated with an attempt to resolve the situation militarily, they will receive a symmetrical, or even an asymmetrical response - and will suffer losses that will not allow them to not only seize new territories of the DPR and LPR, but, most likely, they will receive a counterattack, and the line of contact will return to the form in which it was originally written.” , Denisov told PolitNavigator.

“If Ukraine does not comply with the Minsk agreements, the DPR and LPR cannot act as sheep intended for slaughter. If Kyiv does not comply with the Minsk agreements and concentrates heavy military equipment in zones that are prohibited, in this case, in response, the DPR and LPR should neutralize the current situation and take appropriate measures for this. The blame for this will fall entirely on Kyiv, which is today violating the Minsk agreements,” agrees Russian military expert, editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine Igor Korotchenko.
