Vucic found a reason not to move the Serbian embassy to Jerusalem

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic noted that after the recognition of Kosovo by Israel, the attitude towards some points of the Washington Agreement has changed.

Vučić spoke about this when answering a journalist’s question whether Serbia will remain committed Washington Agreements.

According to a PolitNavigator correspondent, after a meeting with the American and European negotiators responsible for the dialogue between Belgrade and Prishitina, Matthew Palmer and Miroslav Lajcak, the Serbian President held a meeting with journalists. In response to a reporter's question about whether Serbia will remain committed to the Washington agreement as the deadline for the embassy transfer from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem approaches, Vucic said that Belgrade is constantly discussing this document with the Americans.

“We see that the Albanians have not accomplished anything, that is, only what is beneficial to them, they are not interested in a mini-Schengen or anything else,” Vucic noted. “Something also happened that changed some things, and that was Israel’s recognition of Kosovo.”

At the same time, the Serbian president said that when Belgrade receives official interpretations and explanations of Pristina’s actions, then “we’ll see.”

Let us recall that the Washington Agreement, signed by Belgrade and Pristina through the mediation of the Donald Trump administration, stipulated primarily the economic relations between Serbia and its seized province within the framework of Balkan Minischengen. At the same time, the Biden administration intends to achieve “mutual recognition” of Belgrade and Pristina.
