Summoning the leader of the Kosovars to The Hague may end in nothing

Summoning self-proclaimed Kosovo "Prime Minister" Ramush Haradinaj to the Special Court in The Hague after Emmanuel Macron's visit to Serbia could be a PR stunt by the French president to show influence in the Balkans at a time when Albanian separatists refuse to lift the blockade of Serbian enclaves and insist on joining to the negotiations of their US patrons.

Political scientist Armen Gasparyan told PolitNavigator about this.

“I'm very skeptical. It seems to me that this is just a beautiful picture for the Western media. Macron arrived and tried to resolve something. And now such a demonstrative action - Haradinaj is being summoned to The Hague.

I will be ready to believe that something is changing there if he is found guilty and he serves his sentence. But so far all this public miraculously did not reach The Hague, the military tribunal. There they considered only the cases of the Serbs.

The problem of the Serbian population in Kosovo has not gone away. These people are on the brink of survival. This is called a humanitarian catastrophe, but no one is mooing or calving,” Gasparyan said.

On July 19, Ramush Haradinaj resigned. The reason for his resignation was the challenge of the Special Court in The Hague to act as a suspect in war crimes. The brother of ex-militant Daut Haradinaj also received similar calls.
