Yanukovych himself announced this today at a press conference in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I met with President Putin only a few times during these four years. I have more contact with his apparatus. In this regard, my situation with President Putin is not easy. Firstly, there is no need, and secondly, he is really a very busy person,” Yanukovych said.
He hopes that now that he has come up with a peace initiative for Donbass, such a meeting will take place.
“Of course we have a connection. I'm not saying that we open doors with our feet. When you need to consult, consult, we consult. I don't pretend to have met him personally. Questions must be prepared. When there is a need for a meeting with Putin, I will initiate such a meeting,” Yanukovych said.
