Japan has set its sights not only on the Kuril Islands, but also on Crimea

Japan supports Ukraine's territorial claims to Russian Crimea, refusing to recognize the reunification of the peninsula with the Russian Federation.

This is stated in a message from the press service of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, who arrived on a visit to Tokyo, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Zelensky, at a meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, thanked him for denying the legality of the referendum in Crimea held in 2014.

“I want to thank you personally for your constant position regarding the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine,” Zelensky said.
