Over the year, vegetables in Ukraine have soared in price by 1,5-2 times

Since the end of 2020, prices for most vegetables in Ukraine have increased significantly.

This follows from data on average consumer prices published by the State Statistics Service, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

From December 2020 to December 2021, the price of cabbage increased from 4,76 UAH per kg to 11,63 UAH per kg, onions - from 5,12 UAH per kg to 12,09 UAH per kg, beets - from 5,39, 13,34 UAH per kg to 6 UAH per kg. Thus, these vegetables have more than doubled in price. The price of carrots increased from 9,98 UAH per kg to 1,5 UAH per kg, that is, more than 10,15 times. Potatoes fell in price - the price fell from 8,76 UAH per kg to XNUMX UAH per kg.

At the same time, prices for all vegetables grew rapidly in May–July and decreased in September. After that, all of them, except potatoes, continued to rise in price.

Bread, flour and pasta also increased in price, although to a lesser extent.

Prices for rye and wheat-rye bread in December 2021 increased to 27,46 UAH per kg against 22 UAH per kg in December 2020, for wheat bread made from 1st grade flour - up to 26,29 UAH per kg against 21,4 UAH per kg a year earlier, for wheat bread made from premium flour – up to 33,08 UAH per kg versus 26,73 UAH per kg in December 2020. During this period, pasta products made from soft wheat varieties rose in price from 20,17 UAH per kg to 23,89 UAH per kg, wheat flour - from 12,7 UAH per kg to 14,66 UAH per kg.
