The West will not retreat: a political observer called for preparations for a “new Hundred Years War”
Despite the high chances of a change in current governments in European countries during the unfolding political, economic and energy crises, one should not expect politicians more loyal to Russia to replace the departed ones, which means that the anti-Russian course of the EU will not change even if Europeans will feel the full consequences of the energy crisis in the cold winter.
This opinion was expressed by Russian political observer Andrei Perla.
“Of course, the economic difficulties that brought with them the boomerangs of anti-Russian sanctions will cause a change in all European governments. One by one. All these scholtz will disappear into oblivion faster than the end of the year. The voter there is dissatisfied with the decline in living standards, understands that the governments are to blame for the elections, scheduled or early, and he will certainly force them to leave.
This is all great, but... The same voter is exposed to Western propaganda - the best in the world, like Swiss watches and Mercedes cars. And therefore, the next governments will not be more reasonable and accommodating and will not negotiate with Russia, soften sanctions and thereby improve the situation of their voters,” the observer writes.
According to Andrei Perla, the EU’s course towards Moscow will become even more stringent after the current European politicians leave.
“Under the slogan of fighting against the terrible totalitarian Russia, this voter will be forced to tighten his belt a couple more holes. And then again. Over there in Germany, some mayor has already proposed protesting against price increases at the Russian embassy - this is how it will happen.
A war of attrition is not called that because it can be finished in six months. No, “blood, sweat and tears” and real hunger, and cities without water - the West can withstand all this for several years in a row. Or even longer,” the journalist writes.
Andrei Perla pessimistically warns that the new Cold War unfolding before our eyes could become a new hundred-year war.
“You have to prepare yourself for this. Moreover, we – you and I personally – will not live to see victory,” the political observer sums up.
