Western Ukrainians rejoice at the opportunity to work as laborers for Polish lords – survey
The majority of respondents from Western Ukraine (63%), who visited Poland to work, want to return there again, despite physical labor in low-professional positions.
This is evidenced by data from a survey conducted by the Rating group in February of this year, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
400 residents of Western Ukraine from Lvov, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil and Lutsk took part in the survey.
“77% of respondents said that in Poland they predominantly performed physical work, 16% worked in the service sector, 3% had work related to intellectual activity, and only 1% worked in management positions. Men in almost the absolute majority (89%) performed physical work, only 6% of them worked in the service sector.
Among women, 63% were engaged in physical work, 28% worked in the service sector. 34% worked in Poland in agricultural work, 32% in construction or repair work. 8% did housework, 7% worked in the restaurant business, 5% worked in hotels, 4% cared for the elderly, disabled people, 3% were engaged in other activities, less than 3% of respondents worked in the service sector,” says in the message.
