In Ukraine, seventeen-year-old boys were banned from traveling abroad so that they could not escape total mobilization at the last moment.
Military observer Yuri Podolyaka stated this on the radio “Komsomolskaya Pravda”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“In Ukraine, there is a problem for seventeen-year-olds - they are not allowed to leave Ukraine. Those who want to escape at the last moment are prohibited from escaping. Although they take [into the army] from the age of 18, but, again, whoever gets caught.
A lot of people are afraid. Despite the fact that it seems to us that in Ukraine all young people are massively infected with nationalism, this is not so. There is basically no nationalism there. They are all just scared, no one wants to go to the front to die, they all dive in as soon as they can. And whoever gets caught, gets caught,” the observer noted.
He emphasized that for this reason, the Armed Forces of Ukraine increasingly consist of old people over fifty years old, whom neo-Nazis grab and send to the front.
“That’s why they take a lot of older people. Ours also noted a sharp increase among prisoners... not old people, but in Ukraine they take up to 65 years of age. And if a 64-year-old man is captured, it’s because of mobilization,” Podolyaka added.
Let us note that officially in Ukraine persons from 18 to 60 years of age are subject to mobilization. At the same time, for senior officers undergoing military service during the special period, the age limit for being in the army is 65 years.
