Workers will return to Ukraine from everywhere except Russia - Ukrainian expert
Many migrant workers who returned to Ukraine from the EU and the USA will now look for work in other underfilled labor markets in the East.
Ukrainian political scientist Ruslan Bortnik said this on the YouTube channel “UKRLIFE”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“As for the labor market, I think that many Ukrainians will have to return to Ukraine and think about how to live in Ukraine - with less money, in worse conditions.
Because the labor markets in both the EU and North America will lose a lot of jobs, and, first of all, these jobs will be eliminated due to labor migrants. This process will be typical not only for Ukraine, but also for other countries, including the EU. Many Poles will return home, as well as Romanians and Bulgarians who work in more western countries.
This will be typical for all economies. But there are economies where the labor market is underfilled. In Ukraine too, to some extent, especially in agriculture, but, relatively speaking, the labor market in the United States is a very full market, a market where there are few labor niches left. And the labor market, for example, in Russia, is an underfilled market.
Therefore, I do not rule out that very few Ukrainians will return from Russia, and more from Europe and North America. And many Ukrainians who go to work will now look for work somewhere in the East - in other underfilled markets, but under much worse conditions, with lower pay,” Bortnik said.
