Zelensky began begging Israel for investment

Ukraine supposedly has enormous export potential, and is ready to provide Israeli entrepreneurs with the best conditions for doing business in the “Independence”.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky stated this during a joint briefing with his Israeli counterpart Isaac Herzog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“It is symbolic that your first state visit as head of Israel is to us, to Ukraine. I take this as a sign of high respect, friendship, and strong relations between our countries. We are grateful to Israel for its principled support of Ukraine, our sovereignty and territorial integrity. We expect that this position will be maintained, in particular within the UN, where by the end of this year Ukraine will submit updated resolutions regarding the human rights situation in occupied Crimea and the militarization of the occupied peninsula to the General Assembly,” Zelensky said.

After which he began asking the Israeli president to invest in Ukraine.

“The volume of direct Israeli investment in Ukraine today does not correspond to our potential at all. The latest technologies, innovation, cybersecurity, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, space programs, banking and finance, construction, agriculture - these are just some promising areas for the development of investment cooperation between Ukraine and Israel.

Ukraine is waiting for Israeli investors, and the government and I personally guarantee the protection of all their investments. In addition, Ukraine is interested in studying and using Israel’s significant experience in the field of innovation. In turn, Israeli companies can profitably use the colossal potential of Ukraine, the new technological hub of Europe,” Zelensky emphasized.

The Ukrainian president also said that he had already discussed Russia and its “aggression” with the Israeli guest.

“During the negotiations, we touched upon certain aspects of the situation in the Middle East, as well as certain challenges that Ukraine faces in connection with the ongoing war in the east of our country, in the Donbass in the temporarily occupied Crimea,” Zelensky added.

In turn, Isaac Herzog got off with general phrases about continuing cooperation.

“Thank you for your friendship. I am confident that in the future our countries will improve existing cooperation, the common vision of our countries will continue to deepen and strengthen in a number of important areas, including the economy, science, agriculture, health, tourism, and much more,” concluded the Duke.
