Experts in government circles in Kyiv are seriously discussing the option of a force scenario in Donbass with full-scale military operations.
Leading researcher at the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies Oleg Nemensky stated this on the RISI YouTube channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The aggravation of contradictions in Ukraine is growing before our eyes, and in connection with this there is a danger, a very alarming danger, that they will try to remove internal contradictions, at least public attention to the contradictions, through the war in Donbass.
A new powerful war in Donbass could become that diversion channel from these social contradictions, that saving straw that Zelensky and the company decide to resort to when it becomes really difficult inside,” the expert noted.
“A number of experts in Kyiv government circles are discussing this option and taking it quite seriously, and it is logically understandable. This, of course, poses a very great danger,” added Nemensky.
