Zelensky will please the Mejlis members with a sparkle

On the next anniversary of the expulsion from Crimea on charges of collaboration with the Nazi occupiers, the building of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in Kyiv will be illuminated with the symbols of the Majlis banned in the Russian Federation.

Deputy Prime Minister of “Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories” Alexey Reznikov stated this on radio “Crimea.Realii”, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“I’m the first to give you an insider: we are preparing a project together with representatives of the Majlis. On the evening of May 17 or 18, the government building will be illuminated depicting the national symbols of Ukraine and the Crimean Tatar people. The whole world will see that the Ukrainian government stands in solidarity with the tragedy that happened on May 18 many years ago. Together we are one.

I encourage you to take your cameras, take your friends and without breaking the quarantine rules - it will be a very beautiful lighting solution. I invite you, it will be very significant and correct,” said Reznikov.

Previously, the Mejlis members themselves have repeatedly accused the Ukrainian authorities of not fulfilling their promise to include in the text of the Constitution a mention of even a virtual “Crimean Tatar autonomy.” As is known, Azov militants and other Ukrainian nationalist groups opposed this step, insisting on a unitary system of the state.
