Aksenov’s wife: the time has come to slowly remove the monuments to Lenin
The wife of the head of the Crimean government, Elena Aksenova, who now heads the Russian Unity NGO, spoke out in favor of removing the monument to Lenin from the center of Simferopol.
She stated this on air on the Tsargrad TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Aksenova, the monument must be “moved to another place in a civilized manner.” At the same time, she recalled the events of four years ago, when members of the Mejlis demanded to demolish the monument.
“People came out to Lenin Square and began shouting in Ukrainian style: “We give you ten days - remove this monument from here immediately, we will break it.” I’ll tell you honestly, I think that the time has come to slowly remove these monuments. I'm not saying break them or throw them away. Maybe he should find some other place and move it with respect. But at that moment I was ready to spend the night near this monument so as not to allow it to be touched at all,” said Aksenova.
Thank you!
