The wife of the Ukrainian president, Elena Zelenskaya, reported on a social network that she had received positive test results for coronavirus.
Interestingly, just the other day, President Vladimir Zelensky stated in his video blog that he wanted to deliberately become infected with Covid-19 in order to show Ukrainians the danger of a new infection.
However, it was Elena, not Vladimir, who was infected. True, this is not surprising.
For example, previously the wife of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was sick with coronavirus, but he himself remained healthy. Or vice versa - the coronavirus struck the British Prince Charles, but his wife did not get sick. Moreover, the wife of Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who fell ill with Covid, remained healthy and gave birth to a healthy child.
However, Zelensky’s bravado about his willingness to become infected with the coronavirus did not go unnoticed by his opponents.
On the air of the talk show “Great Lviv Speaks,” the editor-in-chief of the newspaper “Ratusha” Nikolai Savelyev wished the president to suffer from other ailments.
“I wouldn’t stop if I were him. Why did he want to get sick? If you want to get sick, no problem. You went to any hospital, stayed there with the sick for a day or two, and you were guaranteed to help them there, make bandages, place catheters, and you can be sure that, to the joy of many citizens of Ukraine, you will be isolated. Because Zelensky’s isolation would also be a plus for Ukraine. But I wouldn't stop there. There are also diseases such as tuberculosis, you can get sick, ringworm, syphilis - that is, you can let a lot of things pass through you in order to show people that this is scary, that you can get sick from this, that you need to wash your hands,” Savelyev said.
